The House of Creed is an authentic, luxury perfume house dedicated to the creation of original, artisan fragrances for over 260 years. The world-renowned creator of luxury fragrances was looking for a major site upgrade. Given its strong online presence in North America and Europe, the brand was looking to consolidate their e-commerce experience for a more unified worldwide identity. This involved migrating the UK/Europe Creed site from Magento to Shopify, as well as launching an augmented site and introducing new features. Achieving this unity proves crucial to the brand’s internationalization goals, creating a framework that is adaptable to different markets while striving for a cohesive look and feel. Half Helix was a natural fit for the job given their longstanding, fruitful relationship with the brand and established expertise in re-platforming and beautifying websites. While each of Creed’s localized online stores has a completely separate URL, Half Helix unified the brand with a single theme. On the design side, a luxurious feel was achieved by focusing on product storytelling that appeals to the senses, fitting given the nature of the brand’s offering. This approach delivered on the brand’s desire for unity on the admin side and created a luxe feel on the customer experience side.
To better communicate the Creed brand identity, Half Helix brought new premium elements to the website as well as art direction guidance. Features such as detailed flavored notes, scroll animation, and animated PDPs were introduced to achieve a high-end browsing experience matching the luxury of the brand’s product offering. New options such as a kit builder allowing customers to create custom gifting and add-on purchase gifts were also implemented. Expandable features such as customer reviews and sample selection further add to the clean look of the redesigned site.
Half Helix implemented a number of personalization features to Creed’s shopping experience. This includes medallion engraving, bottle engraving, adding a card with a personalized message to an order, as well as the option of claiming special gifts depending on order value. The engraving option even goes one step further for the brand’s legacy Aventus fragrance, allowing shoppers to visualize what their engraving would look like through a live 3D rendering embedded into the PDP.
The new Creed website makes use of content modules that allow information to be displayed dynamically depending on the product. This allows for aesthetic consistency across different PDPs since only relevant information is displayed, and hidden in situations when it is not relevant. From an admin side, this makes updating PDPs much simpler and adaptable if certain fragrances have modified features or features removed.
A bundle feature was adding to the Creed shopping experience, allowing customers to create a custom bundle of products around one main product. The price range of the bundle centres around the main product chosen. This feature was developed using the new Shopify Functions, which the Half Helix team used to allow the selected products to be bundled as one item upon checkout.
